Beale Street Puppets specializes in musical marionette shows!
Our show for private parties is “Barrel O’ Monkeys Birthday Bash” and it is a circus-themed, 35 minutes long, non-storyline show and is appropriate for all ages.This show contains over a dozen different puppets, with Marvin the Magician, Melinda the Trapeze Monkey, Baby Elephant, and Nina Ballerina the Tightrope Walker- and lots of Clowns, of course!
We come complete with lights, sound and a circus tent puppet stage which has been built with residences in mind. All we need is an approximately 8' x 10' space and access to electricity.
As the birthday party shows in particular tend to book rather early in advance, we do suggest calling, rather than emailing, as soon as you know the date of your event.
Our Rates:
The "Barrel O' Monkeys Birthday Bash" Show is $235 in the DC/Md/Virginia area. We do travel outside the area; please contact us for rates for shows further than an hour from Baltimore.
Facepainting
Let your guests have fun even before the puppet show starts! Beale Street now offers pre-show facepainting- we'll bring a fancy draped table, all nontoxic and hypoallergenic professional facepaints, brushes and supplies, and a large board with birthday designs to choose from! Facepainting for up to 25 children is $50. Sorry, facepainting is not available without show.
Goody Bags:
We're justly proud of our Clown goody bags- handmade of cloth with felt faces and pompom buttons, these simple handpuppets hold candy and toys- and can be used after the party as puppets!
Goody bags contain a variety of candies and small plastic toys, but no balloons, for safety reasons, and no sour candies- kids hate sour candy surprises! - and no bubble gum, either- for who needs gum on the rugs after a party?
Puppet Making Workshops:
Let the kids make and take a puppet home after the show! Our rod puppet workshop, "Wendy Woodenspoon" is appropriate for all ages, and uses no scissors or glue; we bring all supplies, with fabric, fake fur hair, and precut trims to decorate your puppet. Perfect for all ages- yes, even the teenie weenies can make a simple and safe puppet! Wendy Woodenspoon Workshop is $50, with a materials fee of $2 per child; there is no cost for unused materials, so a rough estimate of participants is fine.
